Remote Firmware Update

Just got a notice from Netgear that I should update my firmware.  I  won't be  local for 2 months.  Can the firmware  be updated remotely with Anywhere Access.  I see no update option.

It's highly recommended to be at the system on site to do any FW updates. You'll be ok for a couple of months to get to the system on site. Alternative would be to have someone go onsite if thats an option. Otherwise, it's best to wait and do while your there.

Welcome to Netgear's Firmware Fiasco. Some of us have never received one of these notices. Others get an email, but their Orbi systems claim "no new firmware available."   When (or "if"?) this Orbi recognizes that new firmware is available, then a notice will pop up on the Orbi "app" and the app could be used to perform the update remotely.  As FURRYe38 pointed out, doing a firmware update remotely seems unnecessarily risky. What's the plan if "something goes wrong"? FAR better to wait two months until there is physical access to the Orbi units.

Who knows, maybe in two months the Orbi will realize that new firmware is available.
