Remote Management via Orbi App

Hello All,

I am new to this community and have recently bought an Orbi RBK43.  I searched the threads for related issues but couldn't find anything. 

 

My problem is that I am using the Orbi IOS app to access my Router at home via cellular data.  I am getting errors showing my router is "disconnected" and says the Device is Offline.  Is anyone having a similar issue like this?  I've attached a screenshot and hope to leverage your expertise.

I spent so much time with support for this very issue and the way I resolved it was to :

1. open the app while on wifi

2. Go into settings from the mobile app and DISABLE remote management

3. Toggle remote management back on

4. disconnect your phone from wifi and try to see it again, should show up

Does the app work on your phone when your phone is connected to the wifi on the Orbi?

What FW version are you using on the Orbi?

What iOS are you using on the phone?

What is the mfr and model# of the ISP modem?

many thanks futureAlec for this!  it worked just as you described.  I am dis-heartened that I spent over 1 hour and 30 minutes with Netgear support and all they did was to blame everything under the sun.  This community definitely shines in my view!

I'm glad it worked for you too! I spent forever on the phone and they did the same thing, I eventually figured out the solution on my own and got back in touch with them specifically to tell them the solution so others could know as well... Apparently that didn't do any good.

I can confirm this as well. I'll double check this weekend to be sure when I'm away from home.

I apologize, I am on an iphone. Assuming it is similar I do this...

While on wifi :

1. Open the app

 

2. Tap The Home Icon (no text just a little picture of a house, on iphone this is in the upper left hand corner)

 

3. Tap settings (Little gear icon, next to the word 'Settings')

 

4. Tap 'Remote Management'

 

5. Toggle Remote Management to off.

 

6. Toggle Remote Management to on.

 

That should do the trick, Hope this helps!

Yep this works! Orbi cloud settings look like they need a kick to pick up IP addresses.
