Routers losing internet conection

I had an RBK23 system running for over a year and within the last two weeks or so, I've been losing internet connections. I notice this when my Samsung S21+ shows the Wifi symbol with and exclamation point (!). From what I can tell, I lose both the WAN and LAN connectivity to the internet. Rebooting the system resolves the issue for a few hours and then I lose the internet again. I had been thinking that it was the router going bad so I purchased the RBK53 and installed it this afternoon. About an hour ago, I again lost internet connectivity. I discovered that the windows computer in my office was unable to connect to the internet, as well as my Vizio tv, my galaxy s21+, and my wife's galaxy s10. But, for some reason, my son's OnePlus6t still had an internet connection through the router. When I open the Orbi app on my phone, it shows the router with a red dot and it states that it is offline. But, if I go to 192.168.1.1, that UI shows that Internet is good. I will contact Comcast support tomorrow and ask if they have done anything recently that would cause my Mesh system to lose internet connection. I thought I would ask here as well in case anybody has had my same experiences.Previously on my RBK23 system, I had Daisy-chain enabled, MIMO and beamforming disabled. I switched those to see if that would improve anything but it really hasn't.

Xfinity internet using their gateway router (wifi still enabled on that)

RBR50 + RBS50 using 2.7.2.104

I typically have 15-20 devices connecting to the network including android smartphones, smart tvs, several game consoles, ring security, and computer accessories.

Re: Routers losing internet conection

This appears related to the recent DNS/NTP issue. The router appears to lose the ability to relay DNS requests. No need to roll back

To confirm, try to set the DNS on your laptop or phone to something other than the router.

Here's a link to one of many other threads on this topic:

Try a factory reset and setup from scratch with v104. Do not use Traffic Meter after setting up the RBR.

Also your ISP Modem already has a build in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
