Speed doubled after update

Hello all. I signed up new here as I wanted to ask a question.

Ive had this system for about a year now with speed of around 490Mbps down and 33Mbps up. My service provider is delivering 1G.  No problem, I've been more than happy with that.

After the recent firmware update to V2.5.1.8 I have found my download speed just over 900Mbps! Almost at the 1G service I have.

Can anyone suggest why this might have happened.? Not that I'm complaining you understand, but I'm just wondering why all of a sudden I'm seeing these speeds.

Has anyone else seen this?

On the Orbi web interface, Advanced Tab, Administration, Backup Settings.  Will copy the "config" file to your computer.

Was the modem rebooted or power cycled. 

v2.5.1.8 broght better speeds to Gig services. 

There is a known problem with Circle causing DNS issues. IF you don't enable it, your fine. 

Was the FW auto updated or did you manually install the FW files? 

Be sure to make a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Helps save time if a reset is needed.

I know. I see several people posting the drop in speed. With all things tech., I am more use to seeing negative comments after updates so to get a huge gift like this....very different indeed.

It was an auto update. No power cycle or anything else.
