What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem? Any built in router here by chance?

What OSX version is the Mac using? What Mac is this device? Iphone? Laptop? iMac?

Try disabling the following:

Beamforming, MIMO, Daisy Chain and Fast Roaming if seen.

Re: Unable to connect some devices - NETGEAR Orbi AC3000 Tri-band WiFi System

Thank U for responding - I am not technically savvy - is there a limit on number of devices that I can connect - reason I ask is if all the people in my holusehold are using some device we get this problem - so issue is not really with only the Mac(be cause sometimes it connects without any issues) - it even happens when my wife sometimes turns on her Dell Windows laptop or I use my iPad (it feels like if there are quite a few devices I see this problem)

ISP is Spectrum (used to be Time Warner)

Modem is: Technicolor

Mac - Macbook Pro

Mac OS - High Sierra

I dont know where do I go in and disable this:

Try disabling the following:

Beamforming, MIMO, Daisy Chain and Fast Roaming if seen

Re: Unable to connect some devices - NETGEAR Orbi AC3000 Tri-band WiFi System

How many devices are online and connected at one time?

Orbi system should be about to handle upwards of 30 devices est.

You can find these settings under Advanced/Advanced settings/Wireless Settings

I would also set Manual Channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any open unused channel on 5Ghz. Try 48 to start.

Set WPA2 and AES only.

I went into Advanced Wireless Settings and found the following: (should I disable the Daisy Chain Topology)?

Backhaul Topology

Daisy Chain Topology is check marked

Beamforming, MIMO and Fast Roaming are unchecked

Re: Unable to connect some devices - NETGEAR Orbi AC3000 Tri-band WiFi System

ok, try channel 11 if thats not busy.

Let us know if the other suggestions help...

I would try this as well, have the mac connect while the other devices are disconnected. Then re-connect these other devices and see if the Mac disconnects after the others re-connect.

I'm using a older mac book pro, OSX 10.11. I have mac Mini with 10.12 loaded. Not seeing any issues with mine. Have about 20 devices wired and wireless. 2 NESTs, 3 Cameras, iPhones, iPad, Lenovo LT, two wireless USB adapters for PCs.

Well - I brought the Macbook Pro close to the main Orbi router - and it connected fine - my worry is later in the evening when all the family is at home is when the issues start - some devices just refuse to connect (they can be Windows laptop or iPad or Macbook)

Re: Unable to connect some devices - NETGEAR Orbi AC3000 Tri-band WiFi System

Yes disable Daisy Chain as well.

After making these changes, see if the problem continues. Seems like something maybe causing devices to drop connection or being a connection hob maybe and something could be preventing all devices.

I would test this out when people get home. Leave the Mac Book connected, then have each other device connect to the wifi one at a time. Not all at once. I would ask your users to have them be present with you so you can see whats happening at each stage.
