V2.0.0.56
Hello,
First time post here in the community.
I just installed Orbi RBR40 router and satellite it looks like there is a new firmware available:
V2.0.0.56 is it safe to install this? All appears to be working and I don't want to upset the apple cart. Current version is V1.8.0.4.
Thanks,

That's only what, about a year and ten updates behind current?

Another question would be whether it's safe _not_ to install it. How
many of the (useless) Release Notes documents since V1.8.0.4 have said
that some newer version provides fixes for "security" problems?
I know nothing. I looked at http://netgear.com/support for firmware
for an RBR40, and was directed to a page which offers RBR50 firmware.
Perhaps their firmware is common. (What do I know?)
Assuming that you can find a firmware kit which is (close to?) what
you're currently running, then it should be possible to load an older
version if the latest one fails to satisfy.
There is a whole set of distinct Orbi forums, too, which might
provide more and better information than you'll find in this "General
WiFi Routers" forum.

Re: V2.0.0.56
Hey I'm new to this community and Netgear Orbi wireless. Just going by some of the reviews I've ready about systems working until upgrading firmware. Mine is working and I hesitate to break something that is working.

Re: V2.0.0.56
The RBR40 is probably best discussed over where Orbi users hang out. (You've landed in the "General WiFi Routers" section.) Try here:
Attitudes to new firmware are down to personal prejudices. But visit that community and you may find more people with experience of the latest firmware. There seems to be a lot of chat there about firmware, so you may get the feedback you want.
The good news is that you can usually roll back to earlier firmware if the sky falls in.
