Weak Wifi Signal in new detached garage
I am considering purchasing the Orbi WiFi Range Extender RBS50Y and wanted to know if this is has heloed anyone with their WiFi signal in a detached garage with metal walls. My garage is about 30" from the house and 80' from the router. I have a decent signal outside the garagem but once I go inside I lose signal.
Looking for recommendations.

Metal walls will severely impede WiFi signals and 80 ft. is a considerable distance taking walls and obstacles into account. There's probably not a window on the side of the garage facing the house?

Re: Weak Wifi Signal in new detached garage
Unfortunately, the WiFi signal for 2.4 GHz is so weak, my $300 RainBird Controller module does not pick up even at 100 Ft distance from the main router !!!! I have not found RainBird controller that works on 5GHz. Tried to call Orbi specialist multiple times, even bought another expensive outdoor Satellite RBS50Y for $300 to boost the signal. Orbi specialist could not even configure to the existing network. Need additional Satellite or Signal Booster for 2.4 GHz for the existing RBR840 router set. No one is able to help to resolve this issue even after spending > 10 hrs of my time !!!!

Re: Weak Wifi Signal in new detached garage
You may want to put in a buried LAN cable or find a wifi bridge to place in between the home and detacted garage. If the garage is on the same power circuit you could use power line adapters between. They have to be on the same power circuit though.
