I hear there are Orbi v2, how can I tell which one I have and is there a difference?
I also saw some Orbi devices with only 1 ethernet port on the opposite of the 4 ethernet ports that usually comes with routers.

The exact model number should be on the product label on the bottom of the router.
For the Orbi RBR50, version 2 is the one that does not have a USB port.

is it any version better or worse?
There is no practical difference. What I believe is that (a) Netgear finally concluded that using the USB port to attach things was no longer worth the effort* and (b) the additional storage was not important, so they saved a few pennies and retooled the device.
* Back in 2015-16 when the Orbi was designed, most printers were USB and had no WiFi interface. Today, almost every printer comes with WiFi. USB file storage was used more for backups than for streaming (which USB is not great at).
Just my opinion.
