Wifi Mesh with Existing Arris router
Is it possible to set up a Wifi Mesh system using my existing Arris NVG468MQ router? My ISP installed the Arris, and I need to keep it because it has both phone and internet capabilities. But I'd also like to have a Mesh wifi system to get better coverage throughout the house.

Re: Wifi Mesh with Existing Arris router
sure you can. there's a couple options.
1. run the arris in bridge mode. This disables its routing features and allows you to run the netgear in router mode.
2. run the netgear in AP mode. This disables the routing features of the netgear and leaves the arris in control. The netgear's wireless and ethernet ports all still work fine.
so it just depends on which route you want to go. some device makers don't implement bridge mode properly so if you try that route and have issues, try the netgear in AP mode.
