post V2.5.1.8 install regression

post installation of firmware V2.5.1.8 lost the capability to edit nvram and set ssid for 5g to another name,  it takes the change but once a reboot occurs sets it back to whatever the 2.4g name is.  has anyone seen this? or no how to resolve?

NG doesn't support separation of SSIDs so NG maybe stopping this back end use with stock FW going forward. It's up to you though. Keep whats loaded or try useing the system as it's designed with stock FW.

You can also use Voxels 3rd party FW for Orbi.

Good Luck.

that being said, why doesn't the gui give you the ability to have seperate ssid's for the seperate bands? as other routers do.

Because under a true mesh system they're supposed to be combined.  The fact that some have figured out a way to split them is not suppported by NG and basically defeats the concept of MESH.
