rerouting router login 192.168.1.1:80 what is the :80 ?

Everytime I sign in to Router login 192.168.1.1 it seems to automatically be changed to 192.168.1.1:80  (with the :80) is this an legitimate login?

Thank you.

Port 80 is the TCP port for http, which is what the Orbi web interface uses. (Port 443 is the port for https.)

In many instances, people deliberately have web sites listen to different ports (8080 is a common one), so putting the port number after the colon is the way to indicate that.

That said, I have never seen a web browser actually "add" the port number.  Perhaps try a different browser or clear the browser cache?

What Orbi model do you have?

FW version on the Orbi system?

What browser are you using?

Does this happen in IE11, Edge, Firefox or Opera?

What Orbi model do you have? RBK50

FW version on the Orbi system? it says it is up to date

What browser are you using? this happened on safari as well as chrome. I saw some strange file on chrome and deleted and emptied cache.  then seem to work fine while on google chrome. I logged in without getting the :80   .  Immediately changed admin PW.

Does this happen in IE11, Edge, Firefox or Opera?  Safari.  Is it possible another router is accessing modem or orbi router? on another community post someone has said it is a double NAT.

So what version of FW do you have loaded on the Orbi system? There are a couple of different versions.

No, the CM modem is just a modem only. No built in router here.

It appears from this that the Orbi web interface is working again?
