I have the switches connected through ports 48 and 23 respectively. The new switch (GS728TPv2) initially had a DHCP address. I configured the switch for a static address. I configured the VLANs for each port on both switches. I am not getting any traffic between the two (not even ping). What am I missing?

DaneA,
I figured out what the issue was. I needed to tag ALL of the VLANs on the trunk ports.
Thanks,
Mike

Welcome to the community! 🙂
It would be best if you post a diagram of your detailed network setup.
Let me share the article below and use it as your guide:
How do I setup a VLAN trunk link between two NETGEAR switches?
