File transfer read/write erro when tryping to upgrade firmware on GS724T-300

I have 4 GS724T-300 (v3) units in production and am trying to upgrade the firmware to 5.4.2.10. I receive a 'File transfer read/write error at anywhere from 4% to 62% downloaded.

I've re-downloaded the firmware zip file. I've tried from both a Windows 7 and a Windows 8 computer. I've run a patch cable straight from 1 switch to my windows 8 tablet.

I've tried to upgrade 2 different switches. Both switches are in production and do have multiple devices patched in to them.

I've rebooted the switches before attempting the upgrades.

The switches that I have tried to upgrade have 5.4.1.10 and 5.4.1.13 firmware. The 2 switches I've not attempted to upgrade have 5.0.5.4 and 5.4.1.10.

3 of the 4 switches are less than a year old.

I want to get all switches upgraded to the latest 5.4.2.10.

We are running a VMware ESXi 5.1 environment.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help - Mark

GS716Tv2 and GS724Tv3 supports the latest Smart Control Center, please use SCC version 1.1.3.1 for switch discovery, basic configuration and FW upgrades.

Make sure to have updates smart control center.
if it is and fail then contact support about the issues
