GSM4352PB - M4300 52POE+ and PSU

Hi,

I will be receiving the following switch very soon - model GSM4352PB M4300-52 POE+ with 1000W PSU. (received from a lab decomissioning).

I actually will not require any of the POE features and would like to reduce the power consumption of this unit. 

1. Can POE feature be disabled from the menu option in the switch?

2. If no POE features are used, what is the power consumption of this switch?

2. Can i change the 1000W PSU to the 150W PS which is the one shipped with the non-POE version of this switch? (i know i can switch to 550W PSU which is sold for this model but looking to go even lower).

Q1 Answered by reading guide: From the Port Power menu, select Enable or Disable to specify whether the port can deliver power.

Thank you for your message. Yes, you can disable PoE globally from M4300-52G-PoE+ 1000W switch menu - either from Web GUI or from CLI. If CLI is the most straightforward (<<no poe>> command in global interface config mode, with all interfaces selected), it is very easy to so in the Web GUI, going to System / PoE - Global Admin disable. 

With PoE disabled, your switch power consumption will be like the M4300-52G switch, you can refer to the M4300 datasheet (Tech Specs at the end, Power Consumption paragraph, just before Environmental Spec).

Swapping the PSU isn't needed, and the APS150W will not work actually. The PoE 1G versions only support APS550W and APS1000W. But without PoE, only 12V power is getting used, and the overall power consumption is already similar to non-PoE switches.

Thank you for your response. 

I see on Page 49, the 4300-52G switch has a max power consumption of 47.4W. But this is with a 150W PSU.

I will measure the consumption once I receive the 4300-52 POE+ with 1000W PSU, with POE features disabled on all ports whether it matches the above number or close enough. (Not convinced at this time but will know by end of the week).
