JavaScript error on Device View tab on GS724Tv4 switch

I have recently upgraded our GS724Tv4 switches to firmware 6.3.1.34 and now the Device View no longer needs a working Java plugin which is great.

But I noticed a JavaScript error in the console:

VM153:11 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 11245
at JSON.parse (<anonymous>)
at parseTextMenu (deviceview.js:787)
at DeviceView.createContextMenu (deviceview.js:878)
at deviceview.js:1123

and the Device View is indeed limited to just a graphical representation of the switch with active ports -- no context menus.

Anyone else notice this problem? I have to presume that this is a bug.

Thanks,

Colin

The ubiquitous drop of the browser cache for images and files and/or a forced reload does not help?

No, doesn't help. Also, the error message in Firefox is different, but same position in the code.

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: expected ',' or ']' after array element at line 11 column 10 of the JSON datadeviceview.js:787:29
    parseTextMenu http://fav-pio-sw1.favoptic.com/base/js/deviceview.js:787

Re: JavaScript error on Device View tab on GS724Tv4 switch

How do I get Netgear to look at this? We don't believe in paid support -- especially when all I went to do is alert them to a bug that potentially affects all customers.

@favoptic_tech,

I inquired your concern to the higher tier of NETGEAR Support and got a feedback that it would be best that you open a support ticket for further investigation.  Kindly open a support ticket with NETGEAR Support at anytime here and state your concern as well as you may include a link to this community thread.

Re: JavaScript error on Device View tab on GS724Tv4 switch

I managed to open a support ticket for this a month ago or so. Eventually it was passed over to the engineering team, so hopefully they're looking into this and will come up with a fix. As far as I can tell, the support ticket is still open, so presumably they are working on it.

Thanks for getting back to me!

/Colin
