S716T Netgear Switch Fiber to T80 Watchguard Firewall
Need help connecting the SFP output of my Netgear GS716Tv3 ProSafe Switch to the SFP+ Interface Module on my T80 Watchguard Firewall. Has anyone accomplished this at either 1 or 10G and if you have, what cable or transceiver set did you use?
(It is very strange to me that I do not seem to be able to get a clear recommendation from Watchguard. They have their recommended transceivers and NetGear has theirs and they do not match, of course)
So any help would be much appreciated.

Re: S716T Netgear Switch Fiber to T80 Watchguard Firewall
The GS716Tv3 is a pure Gigabit switch, so two SFP slots only.
Compatibility (and so mostly brand locking) on SFP or SFP+ or QSFP and up is always on the SFF interface between the switch/device and the module.
On the fiber link interface, things are higly standardized. Be aware that fiber does not have anything like a link speed negotiation, the link is always om the noinal/fastest speed, like Gigabit for an SFP module.
Unless you desperately need the additional port on the security appliance, SFP+ so able to run 10G and (check the compatibility list provided) also 1G when using SFP modules. By rule of thumb, you can't combine a SFP+ and and SFP module on each end, as mentioned due to the lack of link speed negotiation.
