Two stacked GS752TPSB switches - no POE on switch #1

I have two stacked GS752TPSB switches.  Switch #1 has no POE output.  POE works fine on switch #2.

Both switches are running firmware version 5.3.0.26.

In POE configuration, power status for both switches is "on".

In POE Port Configuration:

Admin Mode is "Enabled"

Status is "Disabled" on switch 1, "Searching" or "Delivering power" on switch 2.

Fault Status is "No Error"

If I disable, then enable POE on switch 1, it still shows status is disabled.

Any ideas on how to get POE working on switch #1?

I haven't tried that.

I don't know if it is coincidence or not, but I just ran a cable test on most of the ports on the first switch.  When I did that, POE quit working.  Rebooted the switch and POE started working again.

Hi jearhart,

Welcome to NETGEAR's online community!

If you can, please log into the switch managemnet interfaces of both switches side by side,

Then, try to follow pages 70 - 74 of the Admin manual attached here. You may notice something configured differently

http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/GS728TPS/GS7xxTS_GS7xxTPS-SWA_1Mar12.pdf?cid=wmt_netgear_...

Let us know about your findings.

Thanks

I did that prior to posting.  They were configured exactly the same.

Just after posting, the second switch did the same thing as the first one...no POE output, status showed "Disabled".  After rebooting both switches, they both started working normally.

Hello jearheart,

Have you tested the switch when it is not stacked? Try removing it from the stack and see if the PoE will work.

Thanks,

Hi jearheart,

That's odd. But I'm glad it's working now. Try and monitor it for a few days and please give us an update.

Thanks,
