Using SFP 1G in SFP+ ports
My customer needs 28 port L2/L3 switch with 4 SFP - 1Gb trunk ports, the only swith available for delivery on time is the GC728X.
I understand the SFP+ 10Gb port can be used as a 1Gb port as well but I'm not sure if there should be an SFP+ 1G transceiver or can I use a regular SFP 1G module or if I must use an SFP+ 10G and change the speed to 1G. Can anyone help?
Regards.
Fernando

Re: Using SFP 1G in SFP+ ports
Fernando,
There are neither "SFP+ 1G transceiver" nor "SFP+ 10G and change the speed to 1G" where any link speed be manually set on an SFP or SFP+ port and the connected fiber link.
Give a standard SFP fiber module a try in the SFP+ slot.
