XS708T has different iperf transfer rates to/from iMac Pro - QNAP NAS
I have a Netgear XS708T 10 Gb switch which connects my QNAP and iMac Pro 11.2.3 10 Gb ports. The results of an iPerf3 test are different, depending upon the direction:
QNAP to iMacPro
[ 5] 0.00-1.00 sec 1.16 GBytes 9.98 Gbits/sec 0 1.89 MBytes
[ 5] 1.00-2.00 sec 1.15 GBytes 9.90 Gbits/sec 0 2.12 MBytes
[ 5] 2.00-3.00 sec 1.14 GBytes 9.76 Gbits/sec 65 1.95 MBytes
iMacPro to QNAP
[ 5] 0.00-1.00 sec 263 MBytes 2.19 Gbits/sec
[ 5] 1.00-2.00 sec 261 MBytes 2.19 Gbits/sec
[ 5] 2.00-3.00 sec 258 MBytes 2.17 Gbits/sec
so going from the iMac Pro to the QNAP is over 4 times slower. All devices (QNAP, Netgear, and iMac) are setup to use jumbo frames, 9000. Both ports on the switch are setup with auto speed and duplex, 10G Full, Link Trap enabled, Frame size 9000, flow control disabled.
Called Apple Support. They consulted with their business group and had no suggestions other than contacting Netgear and QNAP.
I"m stumped.

Re: XS708T has different iperf transfer rates to/from iMac Pro - QNAP NAS
Disable flow control all over.
Is iperf3 operated on the native QTS (NAS model and version please) or on a VM, or on a container?
It this on a native QTS network port, or on a Virtual Switch port?
Wht about the "real" SMB protocol file access performance in comparison?

Set to full duplex (no flow control) on the iMac. Flow control is disabled on switch port. Dunno if can be done on QNAP.

Yes, on native QTS TVS-872XT QTS 4.5.2.1630
[~] # which iperf3
/usr/bin/iperf3

Virtual Switch port

Blackmagic gives me 284.4 MB/s write, 745.9 read to the QNAP.

Re: XS708T has different iperf transfer rates to/from iMac Pro - QNAP NAS
QNAP support had me do a direct connect to the iMac bypassing the switch. The speed problem was still there, so probably not a netgear issue. Ticket has been assigned to QNAP development.
