Compatibility XAV5421 & PLP1000
Hello,
I know there are some topics about compatibility but i don't understand why my CPL network does not work.
I have 2 XAV5421 adapters which work great. I bought two PLP-1000 adapters. I read that PLP1000 is compatible with CPL500. But unfortunately, it does not work.
I followed this KB XAV5421 & PLP1000 :
https://kb.netgear.com/22165/Adding-a-powerline-adapter-to-an-existing-powerline-network
But no luck 😞
Anyone have successed setup XAV5421 + PLP1000 on the same network ?
Regards,
Michael

Re: Compatibility XAV5421 & PLP1000
How many plugs do you have connected to the router?
It should be just one.
Add the new plugs to the existing network one at a time. You can do this with the new plugs anywhere that is convenient. After you have got it working you can move the new plug to its intended location. It will remember what it is supposed to do.
Remember, adding "1000" plugs to "500" plugs will create a network that runs at the speed of the slower plugs.

Re: Compatibility XAV5421 & PLP1000
Hello,
Thanks for your feedback.
I want to use 3 plugs (2xPLP1000 & 1xXAV5421)
My 2 PLP1000 work correctly, but not the XAV5421. One PLP1000 is connected to the router.
Now, i have connected 1 PLP1000 & 1 XAV5421 on the router to make it work. But i don't want that. I just want to use 3 plugs. Not 4.
Thanks 🙂

Put the XAV5421 back to its factory settings.
There is a manual for the device somewhere at the end of this link:
>>>> XAVB5421 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<<
See page 6.
The follow the instructions to add the plug that you have already seen.
The manual also has an alternative approach!
The desktop genie also has some controls that you can use, to factory reset, for example.

Re: Compatibility XAV5421 & PLP1000
Thanks again.
unfortunately, alrdeady try the hard reset :(.
Last LED is red and it does work 😞 My two XAV5421 work together & my 2 PLP1000 work together.
1 XAV5421 works with 1 PLP1000 but
2 PLP1000 + 1 XAV5421 or 2 XAV5421 + 1 PLP1000 dont' work.
