Firmware file XAVN2001-V0.4.0.7.img invalid or corrupted
Hello,
I'm trying to upgrade the firmware of my XAVN2001 powerline and it fails : inalid firmware file.
Currently, the firmware version is V0.2.1.5CE. I have download the XAVN2001-V0.4.0.7.img for the support website.
The last date of this file : 19/08/13 13:06, the size is : 4.399.233 octets.
I'm using the NETGEAR router interface ( 192.168.1.68/cgi-bin/index.html) on windows 7.
Any ideas ?

Where from?
The latest firmware for that device is XAVN2001 Firmware Version 0.2.1.7

Re: Firmware file XAVN2001-V0.4.0.7.img invalid or corrupted
Hello,
The V0.4.0.7 comes from this location :
http://www.netgear.com/support/product/XAVN2001v2.aspx#Firmware%20Version%200.4.0.7
I haven't remark the XAVN2001v2 instead of XAVN2001.
I've installed the V0.2.1.7 and its works perfectly.
Thanks you for your help.

Re: Firmware file XAVN2001-V0.4.0.7.img invalid or corrupted
Your first message says that you have the XAVN2001. When something has no version number at the end, that usually means that it is "v1".
The two different versions, XAVN2001 (really XAVN2001v1) and XAVN2001v2 are not the same hardware. So they use different firmware.
People often see the v1 and v2 and think that they can turn v1 into v2 by using the new firmware. This is not how it works. You have to get the right firmware for your hardware version.
Good to hear that it now works for you.
