Freebox + freeplugs and XAV5421 compatibility
Hi,
New owner of a freebok and its freeplugs, I cannot manage my 2 CPL devices XAV5421 adapters properly.
These adapters are causing a loss of connection on the freeplugs, nothing works anymore.
How to pair these 5421 by keeping the freebox + freeplugs compatibility?
Thanks.

What's a CPL device? What are freeplugs?
If you are talking about running two Powerline networks, then you might fund it easier to create a single network.
Most modern plugs are AV standard and can work together. You need only one plug connected to the router. Then add the others in the usual way.

Re: Freebox + freeplugs and XAV5421 compatibility
Freebox is the name of the modem/router provider by the internet provider free.fr in France.
It supplies also 2 freeplugs which are power supply+cpl devices:
200 Mbit/s Ports 1x Ethernet 100 Mbps + power supply
HomePlug AV

Re: Freebox + freeplugs and XAV5421 compatibility
Freeplugs are provided by the internet provider in addition to the modem/router:

I still do not know what they are or what they do.
All I can see is an Ethernet plug on one end and a mains input on the other.

Re: Freebox + freeplugs and XAV5421 compatibility
There are 2 functions of these freeplugs:
One is the power supply to the modem/router or another
The second is to connect ethernet from the box to the power of the house like a cpl does, or to get it

OK. It is a powerline thing. (I still don't know what cpl means.)
Nor do I know what you mean by

Does it mean that you cannot use your modem/router without them?
Those devices are not the usual "plug it into the wall" powerline devices, so I have no idea how they work. However, it they follow Powerline's AV standards they should work with extra Powerline devices.
See my first response.
Then this.
When adding new plugs to an existing network, you need to follow this advice:

That could be either "power over ethernet" or Powerline.
If it is Powerline, then I have already provided instructions on how to add new plugs to your existing network.
For more advice you will have to explain what you mean by:
"These adapters are causing a loss of connection on the freeplugs, nothing works anymore."
What have you done and where does it go wrong?
Have you tried adding a single XAV5421 plug to your existing network?
What do you have connected to the existing plugs?
