Powerline 1000 + extra outlet compatability with other powerline adapters

I have just bought a pairof PLP1000's to extend my powerline system and to take advantage of a new BT Smart Hub 2 modem with Gig Ethernet output.  Before changing my powerline adapters about, I currently use both TPL and Devolo adapters with no problems,  I replaced one in the network with the new PLP1000 as a check. Thinking that 'ALL' adapters should be compatible, I was surprised to find that the PLP1000 would not recognise the existing powerline network.  Obviously there is a compatability problem and as such I am loath to use the PLP1000's.  If someone can give me a workround for my problem, I would be grateful.  One further piece of info, the router/powerline feed is via a Devolo dLAN 500 AVplus although I recognise this, at present, would limit the throughput.

You will be best served by posting about this over in the Power Line forum.

Good Luck.

They should be compatible. I haven't seen reports of problems here.

You have taken the PLP1000 through the correct connection  process?

Remember, when adding new plugs to an existing network, you need to follow this advice:

>>> Adding a powerline adapter to an existing powerline network <<<

If you are trying to get the most out of the Gb Ethernet, it makes sense to use a PLP1000 as the host plug connected to the router. Then attach the others, although as you say this will limit the speed. But at least you will have a plug to router connect at Gb speeds rather than 100 Mbps.

You have my sympathies. Unless BT has made a massive turnaround, the hubs it provides are dire, designed for the lowest common denominator.
