Powerline PLP1200 5Ghz compatability?
Hello,
I was getting low internet speeds with my PLP1200 so I upgraded my ISP service plan to 400 mbps. They sent me a modem and a router and I still get 30 mbps through this device while my Macbook air is sporting 230 mbps through its inbuilt wifi adapter. Does the PLP1200 not support 5 Ghz?
I even connected a garbage Canakit wifi dongle with 2.4 GHz compatability and it was hitting around 30 mbps this is why I suspect the powerline adapter is not registering the internet with higher speed. Is there not a firmware for this device?

The PLP1200 does not support wifi at all. It is a Powerline Ethernet device.
For Powerline with wifi you need something like the PLW1010:
PLW1010 | Powerline | Networking | Home | NETGEAR
This does support 5 GHz, according to the manual:
