Powerline kills cable modem

Having an issue... got a pair of XETB10GM powerline adapters and installed them. Work great! Until shutting down the computers at night. In the morning the cable modem is froze up to the point of removing the backup batteries. Did it two nights. Then tried putting the laptop into hibernation mode with the tower turned off. Took 10 minutes, modem was dead. Any ideas?

Am running from cable modem ---> XETB10GM ---> XETB10GM---> Netgear wireless router. Also have a tower hard wired via USB to the cable modem.

Thanks!!!

Re: Powerline kills cable modem

Thanks for the reply!!! The issue is with the wireless router plugged directly into the modem there is no signal at the other end of the house. When the wireless is hooked up with the powerline adapter in the center of the house we have complete coverage. There is nothing else connected to the wireless router, and there never will be. So... how about disabling DHCP on the wireless router? Can I then go modem ---> powerline ---> powerline ---> wireless and just let it act as a wireless switch? Thanks!!!
