Replaced AV500 with PLW1000V2 and get slower speeds
I had AV500 running from my living room to my office which is next room over. They were working but only about 150 Mbps.
I installed the PLW1000V2 in exactly the same place and now I only get 35 Mbps. I tried to check firmware but get Error 401 from
the builtin webpage. I am about to return these and post on the internet that these are junk unless someone can tell me how to fix this. It can't be my wiring so don't even say that since the AV500 work just fine.
Thanks,
Ken

That would have been over wifi? AV500 can't do that speed wired, because the LAN ports are limited to 100 Mbps. 1000 plugs have Gbps LAN ports.
Do you have a mixed set of AV500 and 1000 plugs? They will al work at the speed of the slowest plugs.
Did you reset the other stuff on your network before you dropped in the PLW1000V2?
Remember, wifi speeds depend more on the wifi client than the speeds of the source.

Re: Replaced AV500 with PLW1000V2 and get slower speeds
Ok, one PL1000v2 connected to one PLW1000v2 works just fine. One PL1000v2 connected to another PL1000v2 does not. Is there something special I need to do to make one PL1000V2 a slave unit?

Re: Replaced AV500 with PLW1000V2 and get slower speeds
Went back and ran the tests again. PL1000v2->PLW1000v2 gets my routers max bandwidth downstream of 200 Mbps (limit of my comcast connection). PL1000V2->PL1000V2 only gets 40-60 Mbps.

Does this strange behaviour change from mains socket to mains socket.
Powerline lives and dies on the quality of the socket to socket connection, and any other stuff in there.
