Speed on PL1010V2 question
I get 200 MBPS speed at the router. The speed from the router to the other end of the AP is around 500 MBPS. The internet speed I’m getting from the AP 5GHZ band is only around 50 MBPS. Why?

We need specifics. Especially when speedtesting.
Firmware on the R6400?
What router are you using? for the primary
What modem are you using?

Re: Speed on PL1010V2 question
Again, you need to be specific and detailed. We're not there to see whats going on, where you're measuring from, etc.
Which modem?
Firmware on the R6400?
You put that you have it in AP mode?
And you get the speed from the cable the R6400 is plugged into of?
Is the R6400 connected via wan port to the asus?
Have you reset and re-installed the r6400?

Re: Speed on PL1010V2 question
Main router rt-ac88u firmware 3.0.0.4.384
AP: R6400 firmware 1.0.1.52_1.0.36
Two pl1010v2 also tried plp1200
The modem is connected to the router through wan port. The pl1010v2 is connected to the router’s LAN port. On the other end the pl1010v2 is connected to r6400 in AP mode via LAN port.
The internet speed test I’m getting at the router is 200 Mbps. On the other end of pl1010v2 the internet speed is 50 Mbps. From r6400 wireless I’m also getting 50 Mbps.
If I connect a laptop to the lan port on router and measure the speed from r6400 wireless signal is 500mbps. I’m using fast for internet speed and ipref for router to the AP wireless measurements. The wireless internet speed from the router is 200 Mbps.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Thanks for your efforts to help.

If I connect a laptop to the lan port on router and measure the speed from r6400 wireless signal is 500mbps. so you have 200mbps service but are somehow getting 500mbps connection? See how your details aren't matching up? I’m using fast for internet speed and ipref for router to the AP wireless measurements. The wireless internet speed from the router is 200 Mbps.

When you say "router" say which router. Please. you're running more than 1.
So it comes down to your not getting 200mbps from your powerline devices. Which can be normal depending on powerline devices and your home. many things impact powerline performance. this can be the wiring in the home, gfci outlets, surge protectors, arc fault breakers, high draw appliances, poorly made electronics, even cell phone chargers can inject noise into the powerline connection. Not all homes function well off powerline. Mine doesn't. If i have powerline device on 1 circuit, I'm fine on speeds. Cross a single circuit and my speeds drop lower than yours do.

Re: Speed on PL1010V2 question
I check the internet speed from the isp using fast or ookla I am getting 50 Mbps from the AP or pl1010v2. If I use ipref to check the speed from the router to the AP I get 500 Mbps. This 500 Mbps is not internet speed. This is a speed from the router to the AP.
What I don’t understand is that I’m getting 200 Mbps at the router and from router to the AP the speed is 500 Mbps so fro isp to the AP I’m getting only 50mbps. Where is the bottleneck?

Re: Speed on PL1010V2 question
Your bottleneck is the powerline.
I don't think you're iperf results are accurate. If you look at speedtesting of powerline device. most of the 1000-1200 series of powerline devices get around 200-300mbps under ideal conditions. under regular home conditions, its much less than that.
