Hi all, i have recently purchased the above two pieces of equipment to enable me to connect my HD tv to my internet router. My tv is connected to the XAV1004 downstairs and the XAV101 connects into my router upstairs.
To start with my XAV1004 was working fine i was able to access online content on my tv. Although when i looked at the NETGEAR Powerline Utility software none of the devices had been detected.
Now, after pressing numerous buttons on both devices i can't get the XA1004 to work (the Powerline LED is off) but the XAV101 is showing on the NETGEAR Powerline Utility software even though the Powerline LED is off.
I assume the XAV1004 device should show in the utility software?
I would be very grateful for any help with this problem.
I just purchased the Home Theater kit with a XAV1004 and a XAV2001 and I have the same problem! Both were working, now same symptoms you're having. Did you have any luck figuring out the problem?
OK, I figured it out. I used the Powerline sw to reset the security to the default encr key on the XAV2001, then boom, the XAV1004 shows up! Now both are talking fine. The 2001 must be like a master and the 1004 a slave.
