is Powerline 500 compatible with powerline 1200?
Dear sir
I am using powerline 1200 package in my home. But now i need something can provide both ethernet and wifi. Can i buy powerline 500+wifi, plug in other room? Is it compatible with the powerline 1200 i am using?

It's my understanding that all Homeplug AV and AV2 products are compatible. A Powerline 500 product, however, may drag down the speed of the Powerline 1200 adapters.
Another option is to buy another Powerline 1200 adapter along with a separate range extender. This will insure that you don't compromise the speed of your Powerline network.

You can mix them yes but your adapters will only be as fast as the slowest device in the network.
A way around this would be to pair the 1200s together with one network name and the 500s together under a different network name.
