M4250
I was wondering if there are any issues running AES67 and AVB profiles together on the same M4250 switch? The user manual states that when AVB is enabled, PTP residency time stamping is disabled, because AVB is incompatible with it. Although not a requirement for Dante audio, is PTP residency time stamping necessary for AES67 audio, and how does it compare with PTPv2 (which is a necessary requirement for AES67)? Had anyone tried this yet?

Re: M4250
Running AES67 and AVB profiles together on the same M4250 switch may have compatibility challenges. According to the user manual, enabling AVB on the switch disables PTP residency time stamping, as AVB is incompatible with it. PTP (Precision Time Protocol) is essential for achieving accurate time synchronization in audio-over-IP networks like AES67.
While PTPv2 is a necessary requirement for AES67, PTP residency time stamping provides additional timestamping capabilities for certain applications. However, for most AES67 implementations, PTPv2 alone is sufficient for achieving accurate synchronization.
As for running AES67 and AVB together, it's recommended to consult the switch's documentation or reach out to the manufacturer's support for specific guidance. They can provide detailed information on the switch's capabilities, any limitations, and potential workarounds for combining AES67 and AVB profiles on the M4250 switch.
