Unable to access admin page

Hi All,

I can't seem to access my admin page through a browser. Also, when I log into ReadyCLOUD it shows my NAS offline.... which it is not. I can access all shares on my LAN and that is not a problem. I get email notifications when events occur like a backup. So, it seems to be working fine. I just cannot access the unit remotely or make configuration changes. I am prompted with a login. I have not changed the admin password, but it just returns with the admin login prompt when I enter the default password.

- RN316

- OS 6.6.0

Things I have tried that have not worked:

- Different browsers

- Different operating systems

- Removing one of the Ethernet cables

- Rebooting (safely using the power button)

- Getting into the boot menu on the front panel. It just says Boot Menu and there does not seem to be any options when I try to arrow up and down, left to right.

Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.

Re: Unable to access admin page

It looks like the OS partition is full, also the content of /etc/passwd file may be corrupted, you can try USB recovery to trigger a new OS  installation to restore configuration  if you cannot select any option in boot menu

ReadyOS 6.8.0 image download link(extract zip file and copy the image file to X86 folder in recovery tool

Re: Unable to access admin page

Thank you Deniro,

I was unable to boot from USB. I contacted support and they are issuing an RMA due to the fact that the front panel is unresposive in the Boot Menu. Apparently this is a known issue.

Considering I never changed the admin password, your post makes a lot of sense. Do you know of any way that I can prevent this corruption in the future? How do you keep the OS partition clean? Considering I am going to load my drives and be in the same situation as soon as the new unit arrives, I want to try to avoid this situation again.
