StephenB wrote: You can't install 6.8.0 directly on top of 4.2. 1. Install the Prep add-on 2. Install the R4toR6_latest.bin 3. Do the reboot you are prompted to do. This will destroy all the data on the installed disks. You might want to check your bios version - if you want to update your bios, it's easier to do that before you upgrade to OS 6.
Thanks @StephenB,
We're using fresh new drives so data loss won't be a problem.
Question - after we install R4toR6_latest.bin, do we then download the latest firmware updates from the downloads page, or do we have to use R4toR6_latest.bin to update to the latest firmware moving forward?
Re: BIOS - we've done CPU and RAM upgrades and are at 07/26/2010 FLAME6-MB V2.0. Is this the most current for Pro 6?
Thanks!

The R4toR6 image is a one off. It tricks RAIDiator-x86 into thinking the OS6 image is a RAIDiator-x86 image so that it doesn't reject it. Similarly the image to go back to RAIDiator-x86 (should you wish to do so) tricks OS6 into thinking that it's an OS6 image so that it doesn't reject it.
Yes, that's the latest BIOS.
