4.1.8 T9 - CIFS access unavailable since Mac OS X Lion upgr
Hello there,
I've recently upgraded to Mac OS X Lion and cannot access my Ready NAS Duo in CIFS mode any more.
I upgraded to 4.1.8 T9 yesterday.
Since then Time Machine seems to work fine and AFP access looks OK too (thanks for that!).
I use CIFS for access to my iTunes library so I definitely would like to have it back.
Thanks for any help.
Cheers,
Yves

The problem is with Mac OS X Lion. For some reason Apple decided to write their own SMB/CIFS stack instead of continuing to use the samba stack as they did in previous versions of the OS. The end result is that using Lion you'll no longer be able to directly connect to CIFS shares from within Finder. You can however still access them using the CMD-K keyboard shortcut using the 'smb://{name/ip of nas}/{name of share}' syntax. At least that works for me.
