4.1.7 Performance Issues

Not sure if this is in the correct location, but seemed close enough and I really need some assistance.
Also note that there is a lot of "generalization" within this initial post as I am not near my ReadyNAS to
give better specifics

I have two issues that I am currently seeing. Performance and expansion. Wow that almost sounds
like a Viagra commercial. Well, at least I have my sense of humor. So first of all my current setup:
ReadyNAS NV+,
1G RAM,
(2) 2TB Drives @ 5900 RPM (recently replaced 2 1TB 7200RPM Drives)
(2) 1.5TB Drives @ 7200 RPM

1) Performance
While I completely understand that the 5900 RPM drives will be slower than 7200 RPM, it's really
not that bad. However, there appears to be a really bad bottle neck if one multitasks jobs. When
all four drives used to be 7200 RPM, multitasking jobs was great. Sure, certain tasks took longer to
complete, but the overall experience was not that bad. In my current configuration, single tasks
are not that bad. But when I multitask I need to turn on a cricket match, cause that will make a
good race to see which gets done first. Of course I am exaggerating, but that's what it feels like.
Definitely not what I was expecting.

2) Expansion
This issue is more transparent to me, however after I inserted the 2nd 2TB drive and the initialization
and parody bits "brought" the drive up. I never received the typical "drive expansion" message. While
I seem to have some extra free room, the volume page does not show a "full use" of the 1.5 drive sizes.
It's almost like it still thinks I have the 2 1TB drives still in the ReadyNAS.

Any ideas/suggestions? Is it possible my 2 issues are related? Do I need to add in some additional reboots?

Re: 4.1.7 Performance Issues

Once the resync is completed and the Volume status under Volumes > Volume settings is "redundant" again, yes trying a reboot would be a good idea. You may need to reboot a few times (wait 5-10 minutes between each reboot) before expansion takes place.
