5.3.5-T28 Missing Volumes
After installing T19 over the top of the current live firmware, i no longer had write access to the NAS.
I figured i'd do a full redo of the whole thing and performed a factory reset and chose to Erase the disks. When the nas came back up i selected XRAID2 and set the thing up. Now the volumes no longer show up under "Volumes" in system overview. The NAS still shows up on our network with roughly 2gb of storage space.
I upgrade to T28 and performed a factory reset again and i still have the same problem.
Other issue is that i cannot set the HostName of the device.
On the bright side, this beta firmware gives the option to disable disk spin down. That solves the issue of the disks constantly dying. Now i just need to get the volumes to reappear 🙂

Re: 5.3.5-T28 Missing Volumes
skywalker, if you are still having the issue, please update to T41. Then reboot and update it again, doing a firmware update twice. After that, a factory default should work correctly with volume creation.

Re: 5.3.5-T28 Missing Volumes
My apologies, i was in the middle of moving and had nothing hooked up.
I'm still on 33 and a factory reset corrected the issue per evan's previous suggestion. The volume was created and synced and i was able to name the device successfully.
The beta has also eliminated the problem with dead drives since i can now disable drive spin-down. We'll see how long this lasts. 🙂
For the moment, i'd say you can mark this as fixed. I'm hesitant to ever update the FW again since this is the first time in 5 months that i can say that the NAS is working! 🙂
