High Kworker CPU RN516 6.10.1

Does anyone else have a high kworker CPU load that is always present (even after a reboot) in 6.10.1:

PID USER      PR  NI    VIRT    RES    SHR S  %CPU %MEM     TIME+ COMMAND

3896 root      20   0       0      0      0 R  54.5  0.0   1:20.29 kworker/0:3

Re: High Kworker CPU RN516 6.10.1

Hi @Iridahonda, I do not have that on any of my nases (RN104, RN204, RN426). However, when researching a bit on the inet I found some resources trying to blame the kernel for the behaviour you are describing.

For example see here: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/22851/why-is-kworker-consuming-so-many-resources-on-linux-3...

Now I wonder, whether you might have installed app kernel+ for whatever reason and if yes, what might happen, if you would disable that temporarily.

Kind regards

This seems unlikely to be the cause.  Based on the Kernel Plus description, it just adds some additional modules.  That shouldn't increase the CP load on the NAS (unless you actively use them).  There's no way to disable those modules, you'd need to uninstall it.

It could be some other app in the system, or a maintenance/background function ( auto defrag, file indexing, ...) There could be something in the log zip that would explain it.

Personally I'd wait a bit, and see if the problem resolves.
