Hi,
After updating my NAS to RedyNas OS 6.10.0-T185 (Beta 2) and also my Macbook Pro to Mojave10.14.1 TimeMachine runs the initial backup without any issues. When an incremental backup is to be ran it gives the error "The identity of the backup disk has changed since the previous backup" and my options is to either redo the whole backup or not backup at all.
After some searching this seems to be a quite common issue with Samba 4.8 for with a patch has been released. https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2018-September/218145.html
Would be great if this patch can be applied to the next (beta) release of 6.10
Best regards,

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.10.0-T185 (Beta 2) - TimeMachine issue
I receive the exact same error using my MacBook on Mojave. I've been tried everything to get RN to recognize the sparsebundle file but it keeps creating new ones. And then trying to back up for 16 hours.

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.10.0-T185 (Beta 2) - TimeMachine issue
Today I did some investigation into the .sparsebundle file itself.
When a backup has finished the com.apple.TimeMachine.MachineID.plist file seems to be missing which I believe causes our error and the creation of a new .sparsebundle.

Mine keeps creating a new sparsebundle called 7Bxxx.sparsebundle. I tried deleting that file and changed the name of my original to that 7Bxx name. It's stuck on Preparing backup. The other strange thing is I thought maybe it was a permissions problem, so i tried to change my good sparsebundle file to 775, from 770 but no matter what I tried it won't change the permission on that file. No errors. It just won't change the permission. Where that .plist file? Inside the sparsebundle or in the directory where the sparsbundle is stored?
Here's is my directory structure:
drwxr-xr-x 1 John staff 16384 Sep 19 07:38 .AppleDB
drwxrwxrwx@ 1 John staff 16384 Aug 7 09:45 .TemporaryItems
