ReadyNASOS 6.2.3-T1751 (Beta 9) and DVBLink 5.1.0 error

Hello.

Something might be broken with this beta. After I installed this over T1735 my DVBLink does not find my usb connected Technotrend 3650 CI-tuner anymore. Any ideas?
I have Readynas Pro 2.

You'll probably want to downgrade back for now. DVBLink depends on kernel modules, which will need to be rebuilt in a new addon once 6.2.3 is released.

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.2.3-T1751 (Beta 9) and DVBLink 5.1.0 error

That's strange, actually... because I do recall needing a new 5.1 build for 6.2.2 but not for 6.2.3 after that. It is worth nothing that there have now been three (or four?) major builds of DVBLink 5.1.0 -- a practice I don't actually agree with since it creates major confusion when people need to figure out if they have the latest.

Ah, packrat for the win... the builds for 5.1.0 have been:

  • 10857 (Dec 2014)

  • 11035 (Jan 2015)

  • 11069 (Feb 2015)

  • 11218 (Mar 2015)

There was JUST another new 5.1.0 build (11218) announced: http://dvblogic.com/en/news/78-new-dvbl ... 2-support/

I'm presently running DVBLink 5.1.0 build 11069 and it's worked fine on a couple of betas.

So what is the issue that beta 10 was supposed to have fixed for DVBLink? Cause I haven't had any specific issues... got me wondering...

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.2.3-T1751 (Beta 9) and DVBLink 5.1.0 error

Ah, there was a separate issue with installing on 6.2.3 beta... but it had nothing to do with kernel modules. This dates back to end of January, 6.2.3 beta 3.

Basically, get yourself the latest 5.1.0 package build and you should be OK.

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.2.3-T1751 (Beta 9) and DVBLink 5.1.0 error

I tried to update to the latest 6.2.3 which was lately released. DVBLink does not work with it as it should. I mean that everything else work but my USB tuner Technotrend 3650 CI (DVB-C/T and DVB-S/S2 models)
is not identified. After I rolled back to beta T1742 everything worked again!

So I still have to wait for a a solution. Any ideas?

They may need to rebuild the app for the 6.2.3 production release.

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.2.3-T1751 (Beta 9) and DVBLink 5.1.0 error

I have had no issues with DVBlink since 6.2.3 final. But I'm not using that specific tuner. DBVLogic have been revving package builds on current release without indicating it on the download page or in the download file name. Might try grabbing a new copy and apply it as an update. I can look up current package versions when I get home later. Remote at the moment.

But if you are having a tuner specific issue is suggest posting to DVBLink support forums.

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.2.3-T1751 (Beta 9) and DVBLink 5.1.0 error

OK... The version I'm running quite well with 6.2.3 is DVBLink 5.1.0 build 11218

For 5.1.0, there have been a few builds:

  • 10857 Dec 2014

  • 11035 Jan 2015

  • 11069 Feb 2015

  • 11218 Mar 2015

I haven't seen announcements for newer ones, but that doesn't mean there haven't been! 😉 I'm kind of hoping to learn about builds for 6.3.3 so I might jump into that beta soon. 😄 I'd like to see this newer kernel in action.

OK... http://forum.dvblogic.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=28708

Looks like there is a newer TVSource and IPTV (but *NOT* the base Server product, which is the app installed in Frontview). You would want to go to the DVBLink package manager in your UI to update these though. TVSource would include the kernel drivers for tuners.

My understanding is attached tuners aren't working. Network tuners are working fine. For me HDHomeRun tuners work great with 6.3.3 (latest Beta) although attached tuners currently don't work with it as well. Haven't heard it being updated yet to address the issue.

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.2.3-T1751 (Beta 9) and DVBLink 5.1.0 error

Well, I did recheck and see that my USB tuner is offline now. I have both USB and network tuners in my config, so I didn't notice it drop after the last update. Not sure where in the beta chain the kernel rev broke this, but it's happened many times before. Just have to wait for a new build. 🙂 Will happen again for 6.3.3. I missed the impact because the network tuners continued working.

Re: ReadyNASOS 6.2.3-T1751 (Beta 9) and DVBLink 5.1.0 error

Compatibility with ReadyNAS firmware 6.2.3 is fixed in the TVSource build 11409, released today.
The correct update sequence is:
- install 6.2.3 firmware
- install TVSource build 11409
- reboot NAS for the new drivers to load
