Verifying before I try this
I have a Sparc based Duo which stopped completely booting after a 4.1.12 upgrade, probably because of a full root partition. Originally, it had 2 500GB drives in a RAID configuration.
I've yanked both disks, and installed a single 1TB drive. I did a paperclip resest and reinstall, and it came up with no problems.
I'm wondering whether I can remount one of the 500GB drives in the other slot, and then copy the data disk to disk, rather than do it over a Network from my backup. So, I've got a few questions.
1. If I'm already running on the 1TB drive, can I mount one of the 500GB RAID pair, and access the data?
2. I would assume that I want to leave the RAID config off this time?
3. If this works, can I hotplug the 2nd drive?
4. Do I need to rename the root volume on the 1TB? I guess I'm really asking how do the OS identify a RAID volume, and what triggers the re-sync?
5. I should install ssh, and do this all from the Solaris shell, right?
6. Is it possible to mount the proprietary drive over the ReadNAS's USB port?
I'm also assuming that there's no way to mount a the Proprietary Filesystem on a Linux box, right? I've read multiple forum posts and am still confused about what the current situation is with regards to that. Would appreciate the current status.

Re: Verifying before I try this
You can't do 1-3, therefore I assume you won't need to do 4-6.
If you have a backup, why do you need another restore method?
