Getting Errors: X Service Unavailable; Cannot Attach Device. Try Again LAter

Hi, I have had nothing but problems with my ReadyNAS'es.

I recently purchased a second ReadyNAS RN102. Both ReadyNAS RN 102's are running on OS 6.6.0 and are on the same network. I have done everything I could to try and get ReadyNAS replicate up and going, but failed. Don't tell me to follow ANY basic steps. I have done everything (8.8.8.8, IPv6 disabled, deleted and readded the readyNAS'es to the ReadyNAS replicate, etc) and I always get the same error:

The only thing I haven't tried is port forwarding. Before I open ports and such, I need to know if there is another port other than 6300 that works with ReadyNAS replicate since I have two ReadyNAS'es and no proxy server.

Second, when I tried a telnet command from inside the network to either server with 6300, only one ReadyNAS responded. I noticed the other one has this error on the ReadyCloud page:

Image 097.png

Yes, it has access to the internet. It can download apps and connect to ReadyNAS replicate. In fact, my efforts to replicate even create files on either servers, but doesn't transfer any files.

No, the proxy server is not on. I've tried a few different ports, but its currently on 6300 again.

The account email address blurred out there is not on any user accounts on the device.

I just can't understand why the services would be unavailable. I don't want to try port forwarding so I can use ReadyNAS replicate until I know I can access the machines properly from within the network so I can cut down on complexity and troubleshoot properly.

Hello KayZak,

Is this using a DHCP IP address or manual?

Please put 8.8.8.8 as secondary DNS in the network settings of the NAS. Then, check if you get the same problem.

8.8.8.8 is a secondary DNS and 8.8.4.4. I have tried both static and DHCP IP addresses.

Hello KayZak,

You mean the IP address is DHCP and the DNS servers are static? Can you make the router IP as the primary DNS?

My router's IP address has been the DNS the entire time. That was the first thing I did. The ReadyNAS is static.

Hello KayZak,

I think you have done all the basic. I checked your profile and found that you still have support warranty, I guess it is best you contact support to get you escalated to higher tier for remote assistance.

Hello KayZak,

Which NAS has this problem? Is it the one that ends with CCA or E77?

@Retired_Member Is there any sensitive information in there? I don't have any private data on those machines, but it would be nice to know if I'm giving away anything I shouldn't by giving you those logs....

Re: Getting Errors: X Service Unavailable; Cannot Attach Device. Try Again LAter

Hello KayZak,

I asked because one of them has expired support warranty and really needs contract and the other still has support warranty that is entitled to get support. I suggest you get the logs sent to Deniro, that is going to be a big help.

Re: Getting Errors: X Service Unavailable; Cannot Attach Device. Try Again LAter

Hello KayZak,

Then you should be able to get support and should not be asked for paying for support contract. Check Deniro's response to this thread, I think he can help you with checking the NAS from the back end.

I also suggest always keep sales invoice. Take a picture of it or scan it so you also have a soft copy.

Re: Getting Errors: X Service Unavailable; Cannot Attach Device. Try Again LAter

Hello Kayzak

There is no any sensitive information in the logs,I just want to check leafp2p log since the connection indicator shows "Service Unavailable" in your NAS admin UI.

Your system that doesn't have the default hostname has problems with its leafp2p configuration

Re: Getting Errors: X Service Unavailable; Cannot Attach Device. Try Again LAter

I had the same problem and was getting the "Services Not Available" error but was not getting the error message in the logs you pointed out.  When I logged into my NAS I found the owner permissions for the lnconfiguration.xml file were bad, it was reporting owned by user 157 not admin.  I changed the owner and group to admin and updated the file like you suggested and everything started working.  I've spent a lot of hours trying to fix this and even read this article several times but didn't think it was my issue because the logs didn't match.  Hopefully this will save someone else all the headaches I had.
