I currently have ReadyCloud Desktop Client v1.16 with the same issue.  Is there a reason that using "check for update" in the desktop client failed to find v1.17?  That was the first thing I tried, before rebooting everything in the house.  This seems like a Netgear blunder.

The new version at the time of the issue was not available on the update servers. This should be available soon and ReadyCloud can be updated using the check for updates on the settings. Apologies for any inconvenience, right now using the link provided will help you to update to the latest ReadyCloud app version.

MacOS: http://readycloud.netgear.com/client/install/ReadyCLOUD.pkg

I have tried the "check for update" from the ReadyCloud Desktop client, but it does not work.  You have to download the new version and install it.
