Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Screen Shot 2017-11-01 at 4.28.53 PM.pngI've been having a terrible time connecting to our server using the ready cloud desktop app for mac, but starting today i am getting this message. if i log in through the website, everything is working, but this is clearly not. I've reinstalled and restarted my computer. I am so tired of having issues with this.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Same problem with ReadyCLOUD on a Mac mini accessing ReadyNAS Ultra 6 Plus—that and a ReadyNAS 628 that won't boot after attempting 6.9.0 update.

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Hello Deniro,

Sorry to insist but I've just downloaded the "new" version (ReadyCLOUD 1.4.739.165 from 23/11/2016) from the portal. But still have the same problem.

Actually I already had this version installed on my system. So, it seems that the "new" version on the portal is not that new.

Could you provide a direct link to the version that fix the account sign in issue. Thanks

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Hello Komm_it

Please wait a couple hours then try download again because there should be some delay in server synchronization.

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Hi Deniro,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to the thread. I remember this being an issue previously also and that it was fixed but this is the same problem revisited I fear on a diferent version of the app software.

I just downloaded and re-installed the app from the readycloud website and the same issue is occurring so I believe i have the latest version...

I can log into readycloud from a web browser no problems and when I look in finder or use the ip add, I can access the shares but its the app that is not working on mac OS 10.11.6 in my case... the app is working on iOS on both my phone and ipad...

I'm afraid that info is all I can add as I'm baffled with the issue... here's hoping it gets sorted soon as its a pain...

Have a good day,

Adrian

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Same problem continues as in Adrian's post. It is now 2:03 pm, PST and it still does not work on OS 10.13.1. So much for waiting a couple hours!

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

What is the version number for the fixed version? I downloaded and installed the readycloud app from the portal, but it still says that it's version 1.4.

However, when you use the in app updater, instead of saying that you have the up to date version of the software, it gets stuck on "checking". This is different than it was a day or two ago.

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Went to the website and downloaded ReadyCloud for Mac, Version 1.0.634.

I deleted the old ReadyCloud with the prefs, etc., re-started and installed the above. Still got the same error message. The pull-down shows version 1.0 and I too, find when I have it check for updates, it never stops checking. What did Netgear fix???

I have an RN102 and did not find your RC version 1.4

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Hi skerfoot,

The latest version of readyCLOUD I've downloaded form the welcome page of readycloud.netgear.com is version 1.5.764.173.

Be aware that this version is only compatible with MacOS 10.12 and above.

This is a bummer since quite a few of my customers are still running MacOS 10.11.6 and are enabled to use the latest desktop app.

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Look like this has changed now. The version I downloaded about 4 hrs abo was v1.4. Just now went to the ReadyCloud site, downloaded the app and installed v1.5.

Opening the app connected to my NAS properly. Looks like the problem is fixed!

Thanks

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Hello Deniro,

I successfully downloaded the new ReadyCLOUD v. 1.5.764.173.

Unfortunatelly, this version is only compatible with MacOS 10.12 and above. I've quite a few customers running MacOS 10.11.6. that are still unabled to login to their NAS system via the desktop app.

I was wandering if it was possible to remove this limitation. Thanks.

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Hi Deniro,

Since my original entry was signed of as 'solved', I use this one to indicate that it still is not working for me.... Although it looks like I can now download the v1.5 package from the website, my system will not install it.

I get an error that states that the 'signiture of the package is invallid' and MacOS will not install it.

I am running MacOS 10.13.2 betà, so maybe this has something to do with it.

I also tried installing the update through the ReadyCloud app, but that proces does not seem to download anything and installs v1.4.....

Can you motivate engineering to look into that?

Thx.

Jack

Re: Ready Cloud Desktop App for Mac - Cannot log in

Hi Deniro,

I still get a "invalid certificate" when opening the ReadyCLOUD.pkg on MacOS 10.13.2.

This happens with the package that I download from:

https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads

I just tried it again, with the same error....

This is the error when I check the certificate with the MacOS command:

Can someone please look into this?

Thx!

Jack
