ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
When I try to connect with Win 10 I get to the device which appears to log in but when I click on the devices name it says
[[ \\.x.xxx.xxx.xxx is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network device.]]
I can connect directly as mapped drives but on the road it will log in but I can't reach the shares. Error message when I try to open folder. I can get to the device via ReadyNAS Admin.
I have the NAS/ReadyCloud working on several devices- win7, android and ipad.
ReadyNAS Remote 1.7.6.28
firmware 4.2.28
win 10 Home 64 bit
Thanks for the help.

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
Hello BWillig,
ReadyCloud is designed for ReadyNAS OS6 units only. You are using a ReadyNAS OS4 unit. You need to use ReadyNAS Remote for non-ReadyNAS OS6 units.

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
JennC, thanks for your info. I checked, even though the icon on the bottom of the screen said ready cloud the software info said readyNAS remote. I went to the Ready nas remote site and attempted to install downloaded the Client for windows and no sucess.
I found a copy in a download folder of another machine I am using, uninstalled the program on my machine and tried to install ReadyNASRemoteSetup_W7_v1.6.5.21. It asked me to install Netgear Firewall Driver but I don't have a disc for this. The program would not run. Advice?

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
JennC,
I uninstalled the program then reinstalled from http://remote.readynas.com after logging in.
Again when I run I can log in, Ready NAS Shares appears , I click on that and the name of my system, Ashokan, appears. When I click on that I get the message "5.180.164.104 is not accessable...A specified logon sesson does not exist"
The downloaded file is ReadyNAS Remove ver 1.7.6.28.
Any suggestions?
thanks,
Bill

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
One curious thing I noticed was that while I can't get to the shares I can get to the administrative page of my NAS. I am obviously able to log into the device but not to the indivudaual shares, could the problem be with the Netgear server? I do have access to the shares with my iPad and Android phone.....

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
Hello BWillig,
Were you not prompted for a login? If you were prompted for a login to access the shares through Windows explorer of 5.x.x.x, this means you need to login with a local user account. This local user should have permission to access the share.

Hello BWillig,
No, I am referring to the access rights of shares through admin page.
Please see article: ReadyNAS OS 6: Set Network Access Rights to Shared Folders

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
JennC,
My Machine is a Ultra 4 and the instructions you referred me to are not what I have.My firmware is RAIDiator 4.2.28.
If it is a matter of permissions on the NAS why do other computers I have allow me access?
Thanks for hanging in here with me.

Hello BWillig,
How's it going with the share access permissions? I believe Framer sent you the right article.

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
no joy here. I checked to make sure I had permission to read/write and I did both in CIFS and HTTP/S.
I noticed under advanced share permissions Share folder owner: nobody and Share folder group: nogroup.
Also, I have access to the drives which are mapped on the computer so when i am on the same network there are no access issues.
This all went south when I upgraded the computer to Win 10...

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
Hello BWillig,

Just to be clear, your concern here is being not able to access the shares through ReadyNAS Remote. You were doing this while connected to the same LAN where the NAS is, it is normal that you will be able to access the FrontView, then.
What is the version of the ReadyNAS Remote application you have? Have you tried on other devices such as computer, mobile phone and tablet?

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
Sorry if I was confusing. When I am home I can access the NAS without problem (via mapped drives). When I am away ReadyCloud Remote agent launches and it indicates it is connected . I can access the Administrative functions but I can not connect to any of the shares.
The NAS is running RAIDiator 4.2.28.
ReadyNAS Remote version 1.7.6.28
I am able to connect with an Android phone and an Apple iPad.

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
Hello BWillig,
Are you saying you are able to get to the NAS shares through ReadyNAS Remote app on an Android and/or iOS device?
If that is the case then I supposed you are having trouble with a computer getting in to the shares through ReadyNAS Remote, please make sure you have no firewall security software enabled, it is most of the a security software that blocks the connection since ReadyNAS Remote is using a VPN tunnel.
Please do not get confused too with ReadyCloud and ReadyNAS Remote, they are not the same. Yours is ReadyNAS Remote. 🙂

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
Yes, I have been thinking all along it is a problem with Windows 10. I have disabled the Norton program and tried to add permissions in Windows but not sure if I have done this correctly. since it is not allowing access. As I have said when the computer boots it says I am logged into the ReadyNAS but when I click on it it says I do not have permission to access. I can access it as administrator.
In the icon tray at bottom right it says ReadyCLOUD Agent but when I click on About, it says ReadyNAS Remote.
Thanks for the help.

OS 4 ReadyNAS (like your ultra) don't support ReadyCloud, but they can still use the older Remote.
This does create a lot of confusion.

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
So I take it that I am using ReadyNAS Remote even though the icon says ReadyCloud. I did update the account a while ago when asked to, could that be part of the problem?
When I click on the icon & ABOUT it says ReadyNAS Remote v 1.7.28.
As I said, it looks like I am connecting but cant get to the shares.

At the moment I don't use either Remote or ReadyCloud, so I can't offer much advice.
However, there is a post from @JennC here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyCLOUD/Readnas-Remote-Stopped-working-after-conversion-to-singl...
That suggests you should use your original account name, but the new password you set up when you migrated accounts. Things might have changed since then, but it is easy to try.

Hmm, I would think that I would not be able to log in successfully if the password were not working. I can get to frontview and administer the device......

Re: ReadyCloud Agent & Win 10
Hi BWillig,
Did you use the same username on the ReadyNAS remote and one of your computer credentials? Also, did you create a local username on the ReadyNAS that is same as the ReadyNAS remote username?
Regards,
