ReadyNAS 214 One Drive Cloud sync issues

Ready NAS 214

6.10.7

Got some challenges with this with old sync data.  So on the NAS - I've disabled the sync  / deleted the OneDrive content / disabled snapshots. On One Drive - I've deleted everything  / emptied the bin /  let it all resync

One Drive Cloud Sync app on the NAS  is reporting storage in use - 775Gb of 1Tb available

One Drive app on my phone shows 387Gb of data synced

365 Cloud admin portal shows just under 610Gb data stored of 1Tb available

One Drive Storage used in my 365 user admin portal  says 51.8Gb used out of 1Tb available

Actual local File Data to sync - 387.5Gb

I can't work out why there is such a massive difference between the reported figures.  My gut feeling is that 51Gb is the actual space in use after compression at the OneDrive server end. The other figures are the uncompressed ones and that the NetGear NAS is simply fibbing about the actual amount in use.

Or the changes i've made / fixed file sync are just taking their sweet time to ripple out through the various reporting functions.

Has anyone else noticed this / found a fix for it?

Cheers,

Patrick

Follow the above to disable versioning on your site.

Delete the sync data

Re-enable the sync.

What an absolute crock of proverbial on Microsofts part and a right ballache to find the fix for.

I don't use the app, but have some general thoughts about space.

Did you delete the snapshots on the NAS, or just disable creation of new ones?

Also, it's often useful to run a balance from the volume settings wheel when the amount of space doesn't seem to add up.

In some cases, turning volume quota off and then on again (also on the volume settings wheel) can fix space accounting issues.

Re: ReadyNAS 214 One Drive Cloud sync issues

Hi Stephen,

Yes, i went in and manually deleted the snapshots as well as disabling new ones.  Typically I can't now find the raw data folder structure i was looking at last night.

I really do hate 365 with a passion, it's almost as bad as Lotus Domino server was!

Then maybe try the balance next.

Re: ReadyNAS 214 One Drive Cloud sync issues

Gone back to the 365 One Drive folders, disabled sync and then deleted the sub and top level folders in One Drive and recreated them from the ReadyNAS  - sync now re-running.

Will see if that's resolved the problem

On the smaller of the 3 folders ( about 9gb) so far 9gb is recording at both NAS and Cloud which is correct.
