Readycloud, VPN type and satellite broadband latency

Hi everyone,

Our ADSL is rubbish and we are in the middle of no man's land it seems in terms of UK based copper broadband.

Satellite/WIFI broadband is an option open to us but the tech sales guys we spoke have been very open with expected network latency of averaging 750ms and would like us to check if it would sit well with the connections to our NAS box.

Will such large 750ms  latency be a problem for readycloud app users? Does anyone out there do this?

What kind of VPN (IPSec, SSL) is employed by the cloud to the NAS boxes?

Many thanks

Andy

Hello flattened,

If the latency is 100ms, the connection is excellent but if it is greater than 100ms, it won't be as good as working on a local computer. So, that 750 millisecond connection is way to high. ReadyCloud uses Leaf P2P kind of VPN connection.
