Ugh! NAS registered to someone else?!?!?

So, somehow my serial number got registered to someone else.

I bought the device new. And I know it WAS registered to me (I've had a support ticket opened before).

But I did an upgrade to 6.2.0 It offered to register it, I clicked the link and the page said the serial number was already registered. So, I went no further.

But I had to call support to get some help with ReadyCLOUD. At that point they told me that the serial number was registered to someone else.

No idea how that happened. I know it WAS registered to me; I had a couple of tickets open.

They would not help me resolve it. They told me to send it back to amazon and ask for a new one (thinking they sent me a 2nd hand one).

They wouldn't give me the time of day...

Looking at you previous posts it looks like you have a 516 and a 316.
You are certain your previous support tickets were for the 316?
What devices are listed in mynetgear?
When did you buy the 316?

Sorry, over-zealous. I really have a 316 not a 516. Support tickets were on 316. I think I figured out what happened. It did get transferred to someone else in error. Need to see if I can get it corrected.

I also have a Pro 2 and used to have a Pro 6
