Allow users to disable the admin timeout. It's really annoying to be prompted to re-login all the time.

Being able to lengthen this would be really useful. The timeout is way to short and makes it very hard to work on.
I, too, would like to add my voice (and my vote) to the request for the ADMIN Timeout to be done away with. Ideally, have a setting where you could choose to disable it or not, and also if the timeout is enabled, to select how long to last for before needing to sign back in again.

I agree as well. This has damaged the efficiency of my work and I am considering buying a different router because of it.
From what I can see, the timeout is set to the default of 5 minutes.
# Timeout: The number of seconds before receives and sends time out.
This is set in the apache2 configuration file: /etc/apache2/apache2.conf
It might work to simply change this to something bigger? It potentially leaves you more open to certain DoS attacks, such as a "slow loris" attack but the real risk is probably quite low.
Anyway, for those who really need this change, you could try and adjust this value and see if that works. I reckon you would need to restart the apache2 service afterwards or alternatively, reboot the NAS.
No, that's not what that timeout is about, see: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/core.html#timeout. Changing it is not a good idea.
The timeout in question is related to authentication (it "forgets" your credentials), and is likely embedded in the code for the GUI..

Yea sounds like a feature request in that regard. I totally get why that is an annoyance when people are using the admin panel often in a company setting.
Yes, please remove the automatic timeout--or at least make the duration user-settable.
