OS6 NAS Email Alerts - To Include Result in the email Subject
ReadyNAS OS6 Email Alerts: To include the Information on the Subject line rather than the “Notice Type” which really doesn’t tell us much. I will use “Backup Notices” in this example.
Currently the Subject doesn’t tell us much and one has to “open” the email to see the result.
- Subject = ReadyNAS Alert Message (NAS Backup: Notice):
Email Content = Successfully completed backup job “Job Name”
The Older OS’s Alerts were much better in that the Subject line contained the relevant information and in turn one could see the Result on the fly without having to open the email.
- Subject = Backup job xxx completed. (NAS Name)
Content = Backup finished. Date and Time
This is much easier to monitor visually which is very important. When there are several backups a day. We look for “Successful or Failed”. A “failed” stands out and I (or clients) jump on to it ASAP and only then open the email and follow-up.
