See the progress of ReadyNAS OS 6: Sync with Amazon S3
My suggestion is to add an ability to see how the sync is going between the ReadyNAS and the S3 storage you're synced with.
Currently there is no way to know if the syncing has occured correctly or at all, unless you go onto the AWS site and look in the storage folders.
But even doing this does not tell you what has been recently uploaded.
Firstly being able to see what was successfully synced on the ReadyNAS would provide piece of mind that your data was safe.
Additionally I'm saving my data into AWS Glacier Deep Archive (very cheap), but to do this you need to first transfer it into the standard S3 storage, then from there move it over into the Glacier Deep Archive. Not knowing what files are new and need to be transferred over can mean 'selecting all' to be safe, which takes a very very long time to process. Knowing which ones were new and needed to be transferred makes a huge difference in the transfer time.
I expect all the required information would already be available as the task already occurs, it now just needs to be accessible.
Please make it accessible .
