After upgrade to a new pc I can only save in some catalog at my RN212

After update to a new PC I only can save in some catalog at my NAS. In my ReadyCloud it state no unit registrated. I have latest firmware updated on the NAS and running Win11 on the new ASUS PC.

The set up when I log in via http://readycloud.netgear.com/ is all on a higer level in the folder structure in the same share with same access level. Its write/read access but still I do not have write premission on most of the folders.

Note you don't need Readycloud - https://nas-ip-address/admin should log you directly into the NAS admin UI.  Use the real NAS IP address (or name) of course.

Did you follow the steps I suggested?  In particular, going to the share settings, navigating to the file access tab, and then clicking the RESET control on the left side of the file access tab?

Did you ever set up a user account on the NAS?  Or are you just using anonymous access?

Re: After upgrade to a new pc I can only save in some catalog at my RN212

I see now that some catalog is write protected and some is not. I can change and remove write protection in file manager but its not helping. I think the NAS have set the write protection in some way for most of the folder, maybe in a falided backup. The issue have been for more then a week so its not a temporary look of files.

Is it possible in the NAS to remove the write protection for all catalogs?

I think you must mean "some shares", not "some catalogs".

My guess is that the old PC was using different user credentials to access the NAS.  You can set up credentials on the PC via the Windows Credential manager.

You can also go into the admin web ui, and check the file access settings for the share.  After they are set the way you want, use the "Reset" control on the left.  That will reset the permissions for all the files and folders in the share.

Also, check the network access settings for SMB, as you need both network access and file access to write to files.

Are you seeing this on http://readycloud.netgear.com/ ?

Were you using ReadyCloud on the old PC?

Thanks for helping me solve the issue.

If I use Windows file manager and under the NAS I have in the tree some folder and some can I drop file to and edit and save changes in. Some I can not.

The set up when I log in via http://readycloud.netgear.com/ is all on a higer level in the folder structure in the same share with same access level. Its write/read access but still I do not have write premission on most of the folders.

I have checked via Windows Credential manager but I do not see what to change.

I log in to my ASUS Router and I could not find anyting strange there.

I have ReadyCLOUD account and also a MyNETGEAR acount. I do not really know if I have set up this correct and how to check this.
